DIGGLES MANUAL

Diggles is a two part system. A token and a collection of 1,000 Diggles launch together and feed the same loop. Trading fees pay the crew every 30 minutes, burned tokens make individual Diggles heavier, and protocol fees keep retiring Diggles until fewer of them split the same pool.

01Overview

What Diggles Is

Diggles is a token and a collection of 1,000 Diggle NFTs that launch at the same moment and operate as one economic system.

The token acts as the mine. The Diggles are the miners working inside it. Neither half is decorative: the token produces the income, and the Diggles are the only thing that can collect it.

Every time the token trades, creator fees are generated. Those fees flow into a shared reward pool and are distributed to Diggle holders every 30 minutes, based on the reward weight each Diggle carries.

The Core Loop

  1. The token trades and creator fees accumulate.
  2. Fees are split between the reward pool, retirement and operations.
  3. The reward pool pays every active Diggle, every 30 minutes, by weight.
  4. Holders burn tokens to raise a Diggle's level, permanently increasing its weight.
  5. Protocol fees buy Diggles from the secondary market and retire them for good.
  6. Fewer and heavier Diggles are left to split the next distribution.

Each step feeds the next one. Volume funds rewards, rewards make Diggles worth upgrading, upgrades destroy supply, and protocol buying shrinks the crew that competes for the pool.

What Makes It Different

Supply only moves one way. The system begins with a maximum of 1,000 Diggles and there is no mechanism anywhere in it that can create another one. Retirement removes them permanently, so the count either holds or falls.

Strength is bought with destroyed supply. The only way to increase a Diggle's share of the pool is to burn tokens. Nobody can be granted extra weight, and no allocation exists that starts ahead.

Where The Money Comes From

The protocol has exactly one revenue source: creator fees on token trades. Buys and sells both generate them. Nothing is emitted, nothing is inflated, and no rewards are paid out of a reserve that has to be topped up by someone.

This has a direct consequence worth stating plainly. Rewards track volume. A busy week pays well. A dead week pays very little. The mechanism is honest about that rather than smoothing it with promises.

The Fee Split

Collected fees are divided automatically at the contract level.

DestinationSharePurpose
Reward pool80%Distributed to Diggle holders every 30 minutes
Retirement15%Buys Diggles off the market and removes them permanently
Operations5%Infrastructure, price feeds, and continued development

The split executes on collection. It is not a manual transfer, nobody signs off on it, and it cannot be adjusted after deployment.

The Reward Pool

The reward pool is a public address. Its balance, its inflow per cycle, and everything paid out of it can be read on chain at any time.

Anything the pool holds at the moment a cycle closes is distributed in that cycle. The protocol does not hold rewards back, does not keep a buffer, and does not pay itself: Diggles held by the protocol are excluded from the weight calculation entirely.

The Burn Address

Tokens spent on upgrades are sent to the burn address and leave circulation for good. They are not routed back into the reward pool and not held anywhere they could be recovered.

Burn volume is therefore a public, verifiable number rather than a claim. Anyone can compare the supply destroyed against the levels visible across the collection.

03Diggles and Rewards

How Earning Works

Every active Diggle is a worker with a reward weight. A Level 1 Diggle carries 1.00. Distributions run every 30 minutes and pay each holder in proportion to the weight they hold against the total weight active in the system.

Your payout = (your weighted shares / total active weight) × cycle distribution

Weight is the only input. Wallet age, purchase price, and how many Diggles anyone else owns make no difference to the arithmetic.

Time Weighted Holding

Earning is measured by how long you actually held during the cycle, second by second, rather than by whether you happened to hold at the moment the cycle closed.

Cycle weight = (seconds held / 1,800) × Diggle weight

A single point in time check would be trivially farmable: buy seconds before the cycle ends, take a full payout, sell immediately. Time weighting removes that entirely. Partial cycles are normal, not an edge case, and no holding period is too short to count.

Held during cycleCycle weight (Level 1)Share of a full holder's payout
30 minutes1.000100%
20 minutes0.66766.7%
10 minutes0.33333.3%
1 minute0.0333.3%
10 seconds0.0060.6%

Worked Example

Assume 900 active Diggles, of which 100 are Level 3 (1.55×) and the rest are Level 1. Total active weight is 800 + 155 = 955.

  • A Level 1 Diggle held for the full cycle takes 1 / 955 of the distribution, roughly 0.105%.
  • A Level 3 Diggle held for the full cycle takes 1.55 / 955, roughly 0.162%.
  • The same Level 3 Diggle bought halfway through the cycle takes 0.775 / 955, roughly 0.081%.

If a distribution is 4 SOL, those three cases pay approximately 0.0042, 0.0065 and 0.0032 SOL respectively.

Claiming

Rewards accrue to the wallet that earned them. They can be claimed at any time, there is no expiry, and there is no penalty for letting a balance build up.

Accrued rewards belong to the wallet, not to the Diggle. Selling a Diggle transfers the asset and its level to the buyer, but any rewards you already earned stay yours and remain claimable.

Yield Is Variable

There is no fixed rate, no promised return, and no guaranteed minimum. Cycles with no trading volume distribute nothing at all. The pool balance, the inflow per cycle and the current per Diggle rate are published live so holders can look at the real state of the system instead of a projection.

04Levels and Burning

Upgrading A Diggle

Every Diggle starts at Level 1. A holder can raise its level by permanently burning tokens. Higher level Diggles carry greater reward weight, which means a larger share of every future distribution. Each level costs more than the one before it.

Upgrades are permanent and cannot be reversed, refunded, or downgraded. The level is a property of the Diggle, so it transfers with the asset when it is sold.

94.40×1,600,0004,025,000
105.00×2,500,0006,525,000

Rules

Levels are sequential. A Diggle at Level 4 can only buy Level 5 next. There is no way to jump ahead by paying the cumulative cost in one transaction.

Burns are per Diggle. Burning tokens upgrades one specific Diggle. Weight is not pooled across a wallet and cannot be moved between Diggles.

Level 10 is the ceiling. No weight above 5.00× exists and no further burning is accepted once a Diggle reaches it.

Retirement does not refund a burn. If a Diggle is later bought and retired by the protocol, the tokens burned into it are already gone. Upgrading is a decision about future distributions, not a deposit.

Why Anyone Would Do It

An upgrade converts a one time token burn into a permanent, transferable increase in the share of every future distribution that Diggle collects. Whether it pays back depends entirely on how much volume the mine produces afterwards, which nobody can promise.

The second effect is structural. Every upgrade destroys token supply, and the destroyed supply is exactly the asset the mine is trading. The two halves of the system push on each other by design.

05Retirement

What It Does

A portion of protocol fees is used automatically to purchase Diggles from the secondary market. 15% of all collected fees is allocated to this.

Diggles acquired by the protocol are permanently retired: removed from the active collection, set to zero weight, and excluded from every future distribution. They are not resold, not raffled, and not held as treasury inventory that earns alongside holders.

Because retired Diggles no longer participate, the remaining Diggles gradually represent a larger share of the reward pool.

Timing

Retirement fires at random intervals. There is no schedule, no fixed frequency, and no published range. It may fire twice in an hour or not at all for several, and neither outcome says anything about when the next one lands.

This is deliberate. A predictable buy is a farmable buy. Randomised timing means no listing can be positioned to guarantee a sale into it.

Eligibility Rules

Minimum listing age. A listing must be at least 20 minutes old to qualify. Anything newer is skipped, which blocks the list, sell, relist loop.

Weighted random selection. Eligible listings are weighted toward the lowest priced, but selection is not deterministic. The cheapest listing is not guaranteed to be taken.

One per wallet per event. A single wallet cannot sell more than one Diggle into any individual retirement, no matter how many eligible listings it holds.

Exact interval ranges and selection weights are not published. The rules above define the behaviour, and publishing the specific values would only help people position around them.

Effect On Everyone Else

6000.17%0.38%0.83%
4000.25%0.58%1.25%
2500.40%0.92%2.00%

Figures assume every remaining Diggle is Level 1 apart from the one being measured. Actual shares depend on the total weight active at the moment of each distribution, so widespread upgrading dilutes these numbers while retirement concentrates them.

06Contracts and Transparency

Verification

All contract addresses are published at launch and verified on the relevant explorer. Source is public and readable.

Published Addresses

  • Token contract
  • Diggles NFT contract
  • Reward pool address
  • Retirement wallet
  • Burn address

Balances, inflows and outflows on all of these can be verified independently, without relying on the dashboard or on anything written here.

Team Allocation

There is no team allocation. No Diggles are reserved, no weight is granted, and the protocol's own holdings earn nothing.

Upgradeability

The protocol deploys with fixed parameters. Collection size, the fee split, the distribution cycle, the level curve, and the retirement rules cannot be altered after launch.

Dashboard

A public dashboard displays:

  • Reward pool balance, live
  • Fee inflow for the current cycle
  • Total distributed to date
  • Active Diggles and total retired
  • Total active weight and average level
  • Total tokens burned through upgrades
  • Time remaining until the next distribution
07Risk

Read this section.

Rewards are variable and may be zero. Distributions are funded entirely by trading fees. Fees depend on volume, volume is not guaranteed, and it can stop completely. Any rate shown reflects current conditions and is not a forecast.

Upgrades are permanent and unrecoverable. Tokens burned to raise a level are destroyed. They cannot be refunded, reversed, or reclaimed if the mine goes quiet, if you sell the Diggle, or if it is later retired.

An upgrade may never pay for itself. Higher weight increases your share of future distributions, not the size of them. If volume falls, a larger share of a smaller pool can be worth less than what you burned.

Everyone can upgrade. Reward weight is relative. If the collection levels up broadly, total active weight rises and an individual upgrade buys back less share than the table suggests in isolation.

Retirement is not a redemption mechanism. It is a fee funded bid that fires at random and follows eligibility rules. It is not a buyback promise, not a floor guarantee, and no holder is entitled to sell into it.

No secondary market guarantee. There is no assurance a Diggle can be resold, or resold at any particular price, at any level.

This is not an investment. Diggles are not securities, shares, or financial instruments. They do not represent equity, debt, or a claim on any entity, and no expectation of profit from the efforts of others should be inferred.

Smart contract risk. Contracts may contain bugs. Deployed code is final and cannot be patched. Participants accept this risk in full.

Regulatory risk. Digital asset rules vary by jurisdiction and continue to change. Determining whether participation is lawful where you live is your responsibility.

Participate only with funds you can afford to lose entirely.
